Adult Day Program FAQs
We understand that choosing the right program for your loved one is an important decision. Below are answers to some of the most common questions families may have about Solo’s Spot, our services, and our approach to care.
What services does Solo’s Spot provide?
We offer structured respite care in a safe, supportive environment through both 3-hour and 6-hour sessions. Our program focuses on social interaction, engaging activities, skill-building, and meaningful daily experiences for neurodivergent adults.
Who can participate in your services?
Our services are designed for neurodivergent adults and individuals with developmental disabilities who benefit from additional support, structure, and supervision in a welcoming environment.
Do you accept DDA or Medicaid funding?
Solo’s Spot will initially operate as a private pay program while we work toward becoming an approved provider through the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) to offer additional payment options in the future.
What happens during a typical session?
Participants will enjoy a variety of structured activities such as games, social interaction, sensory activities, creative projects, life skills practice, and relaxation time in a supportive setting.
What are respite nights?
Respite nights are future evening programs designed to provide families with additional support while participants enjoy games, movies, social activities, and themed events in a safe and welcoming environment.
Do you offer community outings?
Yes. Community outings are part of our future program plans and may include activities like shopping trips, parks, local events, and guided community experiences designed to build confidence and independence.
How do you ensure safety and supervision?
Safety is one of our top priorities. We provide structured routines, active supervision, and a supportive environment where individuals are treated with compassion, respect, and care.
What is your staff-to-participant ratio?
Our goal is to maintain supportive staffing ratios that allow individuals to receive the attention and support they need. We aim for approximately one Direct Support Professional (DSP) for every three participants.
What should participants bring?
Participants may bring personal comfort items, snacks or meals if needed, medications with instructions, and anything else that helps them feel comfortable throughout the day.
Can new families try a session before committing?
We encourage families to connect with us to determine whether Solo’s Spot is the right fit. Availability for trial opportunities may vary as enrollment opens.
Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
Yes. We plan to offer sliding fee opportunities for qualifying families to help make our services more accessible.
